A Relational Theology of Musical Worship

We believe the primary purpose of music in the church is to facilitate a living, reciprocal, and transformative encounter between God and humanity. Musical worship fosters, strengthens, and sustains relationships with God and fellow believers. It is a communal participation to be experienced rather than a performance to be watched.

PREACH: What We Proclaim

Worship as Response, Not Production

Worship music is our response to God. We focus on heart posture and theological content rather than production quality or specific musical style. Our attention remains entirely on the theology of the lyrics and the posture of our hearts.

Worship as Dialogue

Worship music is a two-way exchange. It provides a method for believers to speak to God (in praise, lament, and confession) and is a means through which we hear from God and respond to His grace.

We embrace a come as you are approach to our music, believing the Holy Spirit moves through the genuine worship of believers, not through polished production.

POSSESS: What We Hold

Worship as Complete Personal Presentation

Worship is a complete and personal presentation of oneself to God, emphasizing the deep relationship between the Creator and the Created. It is the physical expression that makes internal devotion tangible through the body; visible in acts such as singing, audible prayer, raising hands, or playing music.

Worship and the Already and Not Yet

Worship serves as the church's connection to the profound dynamic of the Christian story. This allows people from any era or culture to grasp the full scope of Gods work; past, present, and future; lifting the worshipper beyond the immediate moment and grounding them in Gods eternal actions.

Worship and the Assembled Community as Sacred Place

A community, when gathered, becomes more than just people in a location; it is the sacred space itself, a place where the divine presence is genuinely felt, experienced, and active (1 Corinthians 3:16). This means God actively resides within the community, operating through its worship, service, and interactions.

PRACTICE: How We Live It Out

A Relational and Congregational Focus

Worship is fundamentally relational, centering on the congregation as the main choir. Musical worship's role is to catalyze the collective voice of the people of God, ensuring every voice is valued. It is not intended as a performance platform for a band or soloist but as an invitation for everyone to join in making a joyful noise together.

Worship as a Transformative Community Act

As a powerful force, worship demands ethical stewardship, specifically to build unity within the body of Christ. It is a transformative process vital for shaping the community's faith and guiding individuals toward a deeper, more intimate connection with God and with one another.
